What is Reflexology & how can it help me?

Reflexology is a gentle complementary therapy, based on the theory that points on the feet, correspond to different parts of the body. Working with the feet, aims to release tension and promote balance all over the body. The emphasis of a treatment is on relaxation.

Many people use reflexology as a way of relaxing the mind and body to counteract stress. It may help you to cope on a physical and emotional level, thereby encouraging healing and promoting health in all areas of your life.

I aim to work alongside allopathic healthcare, to promote better health for my clients. Reflexology is not intended to substitute medical advice or the relationship you have with your GP. I do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe.

What happens when I have a treatment?

On the first visit, a consultation will take place in order to determine your past and present state of health and lifestyle.

It is only necessary to remove tights/socks and shoes to allow access to the feet. Once settled, you don’t need to move until the end of the treatment, allowing for complete relaxation. Should you wish to move however, the treatment is flexible. Your comfort and ability to relax is always paramount.

The feet are gently wiped down and an appropriate natural wax blend is massaged in to the feet. The treatment consists of a general massage of the feet, followed by stimulation to the reflexes in specific areas of the feet, ankles and toes.

A treatment lasts for approximately 50 minutes, plus additional time for consultation.

A course of treatments may be recommended. The application and effect of each treatment is unique to the individual and any possible side effects will be discussed prior to the Reflexology.
